The "AMERO" ?! Is this to be our next currency?
 

Hello GIM'ers,

I looked around GIM for a post on this and did not see any, forgive me if it has been already posted.

I heard some talk about the idea of creating a new currency called the "Amero" apparantley joining the currencies of the USA, Mexico & Canada.
Similar in idea/concept to the Euro.

I have just began resarching this and learned that there are many conspiracy theories out there about this matter already. One site has pictures of coins that were apparently minted and are now "sold out". Another claims this is only a concept. Enough double talk to make ones head spin. Below I will post some links and pics I've found.

What do GIM'ers think about this, also, has anyone actually seen one of these things?

Yes, there is certainly much speculation about a currency union for North America. Economically, it makes a certain amount of sense. But I'm not sure why the Canadians would want it. Canada's public finances are so much stronger than those in the USA.

Right, and might we say the opposite of Mexico's? Perhaps it would be a good thing, perhaps not... There is one speculation that it is an attempt by the US to further devalue it's dollar. I'm sure these "theories" could go on forever. If, however these coins were to be minted in AU, AG, & CU,
they would actually be worth something! Making the last idea, nonsense. Probably less metal content to the face value but still. This changes frquently anyway. How actual paper money, if not redeemable for metal, would play into this I don't know.

They are nice looking, Liberty has never looked so good up close!
maybe it's worth a shot trying to order some, if they have in fact been minted.

No offense guy, but this has been done to death on here,many,many times.Hal Turner was even caught in a hoax trying to say these things were out over a year ago. buy some they arent the real deal, but are nice "coins"
